  • The Economic Census for Business Activity will NEVER ask for money, bank account PINs, or credit card numbers.
  • Please beware of suspicious visitors, phone calls, emails, websites, etc. impersonating the Economic Census for Business Activity. Please also exercise extreme caution regarding crimes related to so-called gyami-baitoh (shady part-time jobs).
  • Reports have been confirmed of emails claiming to be from the Statistics Bureau (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) requesting responses to the Economic Census for Business Activity. No requests for survey responses are currently being conducted via email. If you suspect an email is fraudulent, please do not click on any URLs or links contained in the message. Instead, contact your local municipality.
  • Note: In certain complex commercial facilities, etc., enumerator duties are outsourced to the respective management companies or operating corporations. In such cases, personnel carry a 2026 Economic Census for Business Activity: Certificate of Business Entrustment.
